Physical Fitness

We believe there are three factors that produce a physically fit child.
All three work together and help improve the others.
- The first factor is coordination (athleticism). This is the ability to perform a specific physical task. It involves body control and visual coordination. Genetics play a factor in one’s abilities, but improvements can be made with practice and muscle memory.
- The second factor is stamina (endurance). This is the ability to perform an activity overtime. Stamina can be limited by our physical abilities and depends on multiple factors that allow our bodies to continue an activity over time. Stamina can also be mental and children can learn that they can push themselves to continue an activity.
- The last factor is body composition. This is the relative amount of fat tissue that our body contains. When we allow ourselves to take in more energy than we use then this ratio becomes unhealthy and unfit.
No one aspect of fitness is more important than the other. Kids can excel in one or two aspects of fitness but struggle with the others. Our desire at CCF is to help kids in all three aspects of their fitness and that they will develop lifestyle habits that will help them throughout life.
